There is no aspect of a building which is more important, structurally, then the foundation. That is such a basic truth of construction principles that people often even use it metaphorically – referring to something having a "strong foundation" to mean that it is built and based on something dependable.

This is why, when the building has a problem with the foundation and it needs to be repaired, I found it to be so critical to hire the right foundation repair contractor so that the job is done correctly the first time.

When I hire contractors for most jobs, I take bids and consider all aspects of them, heavily weighting the price in that consideration. However, when I consider bids from foundation repair vendors, I often weight qualifications and reputation much more heavily than I do the bid price in making my decision about which contractor to hire.
